Welcome to the Dark Harbor, capitol of the NUNYO Sector.
The term NUNYO has been used by Governor Jeffren in the past for his corporate holdings, under a single banner of the word NUNYO. Which means that if you are an outsider seeking information on DH, his businesses, or the privacy of those within the sector so named, then it is all "NUNYO damn business". The criminal element runs the daily workings of Dark Harbor and other cities and systems within the sector, and most wrong-doers are dealt with harshly and quietly.
'The Cabal' is the leading criminal organization in Dark Harbor, and does reach out around the galaxy. The Cabal is an interplanetary criminal organization descended from smugglers and pirates from days gone by, and led by Jeffren himself. The Cabal runs numbers rackets, gambling, smuggling operations, gun-running, contract killing, slave traffic, loan sharking, extortion, blackmail, and anything else lucrative and illegal. The Cabal employs members from many other planets and species, and contracts with independent operators of still more varied backgrounds and skills.
The Cabal uses the symbol of Odin's triple horn, done in a tribal tat format. All members have this symbol on their person at all times, whether by tattoo, clothing, pins, piercings, or jewelry. It is also the symbol for the comm badges for the Starforce and other members of the government.

WARNING: This is an unusually dark Star Trek sim, and meant for adults only as it is rated R. Anyone under the age of 18 will be denied joining, and if we find out you are and lied to us, we will delete your PC's.

Posted on Fri May 18th, 2012 @ 11:54pm by Viceroy Kinarra in Out of Character
For all simmers, these are the Fleet rules, along with a few new ones added by the Admiralty. Please read as these go into effect immediately. The will be also listed in the wiki section of each site.
Without rules Society even in its most minute form would fall, and Quicksilver Fleet is no different. Even still we hold fast to the ideals that this is first and foremost a GAME, and will do everything in our power to keep it fun and entertaining. However; we need your help to keep it such. So we have compiled a list of rules that we as the Admiralty in QSF would like EVERYONE to adhere to.
Characters:
1. When creating a new character, please refrain from using canon character names from any other location, be it Star Trek, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, or any other movie/book unless given expressed approval from an Admin member. First names OR Last names can be used, however do not use them together. For Example Harry Potter is NOT acceptable, but Harry Jones, or Indiana Potter is fine.
2. When creating a character, please note that magical powers or god-like abilities are not acceptable. If you are playing a non canon race, or one that you have created you are required to send a bio for the race before playing them. (Species are subject to Admiralty Approval)
3. Characters are not allowed to be Borg, or have Borg implants without expressed permission from the Admiralty.
4. All characters are required to have FULL biographies. They should all be original and in no way copy or mimic canon characters. Unless specifically told otherwise, all characters are the property of their creators and are not to be written for. It is up to the Commanding Officer to handle any infringement upon this rule.
5. Characters are not allowed to have Royalty status while serving onboard any ship in the QSF. You may mention that it has been put on hold, but no lording it over another character, this is not acceptable.
6. Unless your Commanding Officer says otherwise, players are allowed to have more than one character per ship, as long as they are listed in the subject heading as which one you are writing for. However since it is up to your CO, their say is final on this matter.
7. It is up to your Commanding Officer to determine promotions. Promotions are widely determined by posting quality, as well as a person's specific assistance in moving a mission, helping a fellow simmer, or assisting the ship in some other way. No one may be promoted to Executive officer with approval from the Admiralty as they may be assigned higher abilities within the website.
8. No characters may be permanently deleted from any simm within the fleet. If a character will no longer be used they are to be made inactive. After sixty days if the simmer determines they will not be bringing this character back, the biography may be erased by the Commanding Officer or XO, however the character name will remain permanently for the ease of crew who wish to verify information on previous posts.
9. The ONLY persons allowed to alter an approved biography for a character in use is the Commanding Officer or XO on the simm. If a crew member wishes to make changes to their biography they must submit those changes to BOTH the Commanding Officer and XO for approval.
10. Once a character is created no simmer may override that information with a new character.
Posting:
1. Please keep all posts realistic. A ship would not have their shields down 98 percent and still attack a Borg cube, nor have their warp engines fixed in fifteen minutes after being totally destroyed.
2. Unless otherwise stated by your CO, you are allowed to post One Mission Entry and One Personal Log in a 24 hour period of time, unless someone else posts after you. If this is the case you are free to post again.
3. Unless otherwise stated by your CO, Quicksilver Fleet does not have a minimum word count for posts, but please remember we are trying to move missions along and post accordingly.
4. Please respect the rating of the ship, and keep your content within it. Posts with explicit material will have it changed by the author or deleted off of the site if it does not comply with the rating.
5. Races, planets, moons, stars, and systems are allowed to be created, however upon doing such it is required that the QSF Admirals be emailed with a description and if possible a picture of your race in order to be added to the database. Email your updates here.
6. Joint posts are a collective effort of two or more simmers. Joint posts are not to be posted as an active post until ALL parties have approved it. The ONLY exception would be if a period (No Less than 48 hours) of time passed and one or more of the simmers were not responding and not replying to requests for them to respond.
Other Fleet Rules:
1. QSF is (unless otherwise noted) a PG-13 fleet. ALL members must be at least 13 years old in order to join. Each ship has a rating; some higher than PG-13, so please respect that. Your Captain is responsible for informing you of their specific ship rating.
2. Poaching* is NOT permitted. This includes PMs and forums. You may RECRUIT over Email or IM, or in a command approved embassy such as a board/yahoo group designed for the same reason. *Poaching is recruiting with the intent of pulling the person to/from QSF or a ship within/outside without the authorization of his or her commanding officer.
3. Racism, insulting, harassing and other generally abusive things are NOT permitted anywhere in QSF. Do not use the posting sites as ways to yell or criticize anyone, or their posts. If a post needs to be changed, the Captain or Executive Officer will be the one to deal with it. Any violation of this could result in A) Moderation, B) Suspension, and C) Termination and banning from this fleet. We do not want an environment that people cannot come freely and have fun, please keep it enjoyable!
4. No member of Quicksilver fleet is allowed to provoke or harass ANY member, nor any outside organization. Violation of this rule could result in expulsion from the fleet.
5. Any person in Command within Quicksilver Fleet (Captain, Admiralty) can simm in other fleets and ships if they so please. HOWEVER, they are NOT allowed to be promoted above Commander, nor hold a position higher than Executive Officer. This is to keep any individual from having a conflict-of-interest between all fleets involved.
6. Quicksilver Fleet reserves the right to remove any person(s) deemed a threat to the safe and fun environment that we strive to create here. However, if you feel you have been removed unfairly; please contact the DFO here
7. System Administrator is to be held by: Admiral Tabolt, Simm Commanding Officer and Executive Officer. No other simmers (Including Admirals) are allowed to hold that access.
8. The ONLY persons allowed to approve new characters are the Commanding Officer and their XO if they so deem so.
9. Copying others work from the sims, books and/or online articles and/or writing off the internet is prohibited. Posts must be unique and written in your own words. Plagerism is not allowed.
10. The fleet chain-of-command is as follows:
Commander In Chief
Director of Fleet Operations
Director of Fleet R & D
Director of Fleet Personnel
Director of Fleet Reports and Recruiting
Director of Starfleet Marines

This directive takes precedence over any and all other considerations, and carries with it the highest moral Obligation.

Cook Book!!
In the past there had been talk of a Fleet Cookbook, I know we have some good cooks out there. Please send me any recopies you like. To make it even more fun and interesting please do it by character and ship. For example I'd submit one as Admiral Wilson Starbase Gibralter and my recipe would be No Bake Cookies. I'll collect all recipes and save them until I have enough to publish the cookbook. It will be sent to anyone who would like a copy of it as a word file. I think this would be fun and a chance to see how many different recopies we can collect. Please make sure you title it as Appetizer, Salad, Main Dish, Casserole, Desert ETC.

Trivia Time!!!!!!!
While most Trekkies will have known this detail for decades, this is the first time that Uhura has been given a first name on screen: Nyota. Gene Roddenberry never came up with a first name for her, so many thought this meant she did not have one, although in literature, Uhura is often referred to as Nyota by her comrades, and she is also referred to as Nyota Uhura in the DC Comics publication "Who's Who in Star Trek". There are several nods to this history in the movie: first, when Kirk first meets (and hits on) Uhura in a bar and tells her, "if you don't tell me your name, I'm gonna have to make one up," and then when she refuses to tell Kirk her first name throughout the film.
The character that Bruce Greenwood plays, Captain Christopher Pike, was the commanding officer of the USS Enterprise in the unaired Star Trek pilot episode, Star Trek: The Cage. In that episode, Pike was portrayed by Jeffrey Hunter. Initially, the episode was rejected but when a second pilot was ordered, Hunter dropped out of the series so the part was rewritten and recast with William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk. The footage from the unaired pilot was later woven into the episode Star Trek: The Menagerie: Part I.
Majel Barrett, the wife of "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry, is the voice of the Enterprise computer. She'd also been the computer voice in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, and had played Pike's first officer in Star Trek: The Cage. She completed her voice-over work from her home, two weeks before her death on December 18, 2008.

So, here we are once again with a new face on Dark Harbor. With that in mind, let's all play along and say that the Klingons never happened, and all the Imperium nonsense also did not occur. Jeffren is in charge, having wrested power from the previous administration. He is the Governor of the sector, and also the leading voice ad hand for the Cabal criminal organization. All previous positions held by certain members will remain, with rank changes and differences now in place. (i.e. Susan Rabbit is still the station manager and Port Master).
All this is just another attempt to reinvigorate the site. This is a time for new PC's to emerge and for different manifests to pop up with different folks all over the sector, or in DH itself. So, with all this in mind let's see if DH can live again. It has always been a hard site to maintain, but I think that with all of us trying, then we can make it something better. Thanks, and sim on once the first mission is up.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
It has come to my attention that there has been harassment going on around the fleet towards several of our members. Let me be clear now and forever more. THIS. IS. NOT. TOLERATED. It clearly states in our rules and regulations that harassing of any kind can and most likely will result in your expulsion from the fleet. We founded this fleet five years ago in the effort to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our simmers. Anyone detracting from this is at cross purposes with the Admiralty. Anyone up to this point has a free pass and recommend that you USE IT and start fresh with your fellow simmers. From this point on we will begin building a case against anyone* that decides they are above this ruling. This is not written in reference to any in particular; so before I see a million emails in my inbox complaining that I am attacking you let assure you that this was intended for EVERYONE and am in no way singling one individual out.
Thank you for your time and adherence to this notice.
Admiral Michael A. Tabolt
Director of Fleet Operations

That said it's now Trivia Time!!!
Contrary to popular belief, neither Captain Kirk nor anyone else ever said, "Beam me up, Scotty," in any episode.
The series' opening theme has lyrics that were never used (although they were published in the book "The Making of Star Trek", by Stephen J. Whitfield). They were written by Gene Roddenberry, not so that they would be sung on-screen (which he never intended or even wanted), but so that he could take a co-writer credit and receive a residual payments for the theme's use alongside the theme's composer, Alexander Courage. Roddenberry did this nearly a year after the show was first aired, taking advantage of a contract clause that Courage claimed not to have been aware of. Although Courage never took the matter to court, he expressed resentment on numerous occasions to the way Roddenberry "swindled" 50% of the popular theme's royalties from him. Roddenberry's response was, "Hey, I have to get some money somewhere. I'm sure not going to get it out of the profits of Star Trek." After the first season of Star Trek, the two never worked together again - although the music has been used in various forms in many of the spin-off projects.
If you have any Trivia that you'd like to include by all means send it to me.
Until Next Month.
