General Overview
Talo is a hard task master, pushing the marines under him to go beyond their capabilities. He hates hearing, “I can’t.” or “It can’t be done.” Jackson will use any trick in the book to win. Being a success and having the best are what he strives for. He is slow to lose his temper, hardly ever yelling. It is when he uses a low, yet determined voice that his men know, hell is about to break.

Strengths and weaknesses: Jackson was raised by marine parents and is not afraid of the odds no matter how stacked against him they may be. He does not make emotional attachments and has never known real friendship. Talo almost seems at time more like a machine than a human.

For as long as he could remember Talo had been raised to be a chemist. It was when he was fourteen that he discovered by accident that he had been adopted. He became obsessed with finding his family, discovering his parents had died in a tragic accident and he and his five brothers and sisters had been given up for adoption.

Finally, after several years of hunting, Talo found his Uncle Karlan. After several weeks of arguing, Richard and Abigail finally relented for him to spend his summer vacation, with his uncle.

Once Talo left the Spoelman’s home, he never went back. His Uncle lived among the Cheyenne people and there, Talo found what he had been searching for. Spending much time among his people, he discovered his family had a history of generations in the military. His birth parents had served in the marines, both dying in active duty.

As soon as he was of age, Talo enlisted and trained in the Marines. He specialized in explosives and recon.

Jackson worked hard and eventually was assigned his own team. He was young and some thought ‘too’ young for the responsibility that had been handed him but Talo proved himself over and over. It was on a particularly hard mission that he was chosen to lead that led to the loss of a great number of lives, both civilian and marines. To this day, Talo will not speak of it, has been ordered not to by marines and fleet officers alike.

Talo and his marines were sent undercover on a highly classified mission to retrieve some vital information for the Federation. While on their way back, two of the marines under Jackson’s command turned traitor and the team was taken by a band of outlaws called, the Rogalians.

Talo spent five years held prisoner, the Rogalians determined to get the information they needed from him. Finally, by a twist of fate, Jackson was rescued by a team of Intelligence officers planted to expose the Rogalians. Talo was the only member of his team to survive.

Upon his return, Jackson immediately requested to be returned to active duty. He set up a special team within his unit of hand picked officers. Talo chose only to take these select few with him.

Talo’s field service was spent specializing in covert operations, though he served on many ships. Jackson was known as a hard taskmaster who was all work and no play.

After being injured in an explosion, which damaged his right leg and hand. After having surgery and implants put in, his limbs were as good as new. It was one year later that Talo was offered a promotion and transfer to Starbase Gilbatar, where he is currently serving having moved up the ranks to Base Commander
