ON:

After making sure Admiral Olvera and General Barnes were settled in thier quarters Marlaina returned to the bridge. "Anything to report?"

"Nothing captain," Kalief said looking over at her. He wanted to ask questions but the bridge was not the place.

"I have to finish my paperwork you have the bridge," Marlaina said, seeing his nod she headed into her office and took a seat at her desk.

After hearing about the arrival of the top brass aboard the ship, JM headed up to the bridge to talk to Marlaina about it. When he got there, he went to ask Kalief where she was, but he just nodded his head over to her office. Without saying a word, JM walked over and keyed the door chime.

Without looking up from the report she was reading Marlaina called out for permission to enter.

Upon receiving permission, JM walked in. "So, did I miss a memo about a surprise inspection?" he asked.

Marlaina looked up from the PADD she'd been reading and indicated him to have a seat. "This is no inspection," the captain responded once her first officer was seated. "But a visit in regards to a major security breech,"

JM sat down. "What? What happened, and why wasn't I informed?"

"I didn't know how big it was until Admiral Olvera showed up," Marlaina said "Major Carol hacked into my private mail. I've already discplined her for that. What I didn't know was when she hacked into mine she also hacked into General Talo Jackon's mail. He's the new base commander at the Gibralter. How she managed to break my password is beyond me. I knew my offical mail was tracked but I had no idea my personal mail was. As the captain of this ship I'm privy to a lot of classified mail, some goes to my personal mail some goes to my offical mail."

"You...you've gotta be kidding me," JM replied without moving a muscle.

"I wish I was," Marlaina replied "I've changed all my command codes and passwords, General Jackson is livid as well."

"Have you talked to Josie yet?"

"I have and all I got was double talk and something about she should have been told. Problem is she admitted it to me as well," Marlaina said

A heavy sigh left JM's mouth as he stood up and started to pace. "I'm guessing that a friendly meeting with the brass is coming up for you soon?"

"That's my thinking to, but this time I'm in no trouble. With the change in my codes and passwords they're pretty much unbreakable. As well as my husband knows me he won't even be able to break them," Marlaina commented

"Hmm, maybe I should change mine as well, just to be safe." While he didn't think Josie would do anything against him, he'd rather e safe than sorry.

"That would be a good idea, as my first officer your privy to a lot of classified mail as well. Not nearly as much as I am but you still get some. Both your offical mail and your personal mail is tracked. It's not read but it is tracked," Marlaina said "Mine are not in standard but my native language."

JM nodded. "So what do you think will happen go Josie?"

"That's up to the brass, I suggested the brig for her actions. Everything will ride on what she tells them when they question her. My adivce to you is to keep this conversation between us. The only people I want you to discuss this with is myself, and Admiral Olvera and the general," Marlaina remarked.

"Of course, captain," JM responded. "So how far are we from our destination? I can't imagine that things are going to get much better with the diplomats still aboard."

Marlaina turned to her computer and sent a message to Kalief, a few seconds later she looked at JM "According to Kalief we're about a week out yet presant speed we're currently traveling at warp four."

JM returned a pondering face. "And why's that?"

"Kalief does have the slip stream ready, the engineer is double checking things. You and I both know its not a stable field and even if we do engage it there is no guarantee it will hold. With the admrality aboard the last thing I want to do is open this ship up. She'll cruise at warp 9.95 for about twelve hours, I don't want to push the engines that hard unless I have to," Marlaina said

"Well, if you ask me, I think the situation warrants it. As soon as the admiraly is off the ship, I suggest we book it."

"That's my plan to," Marlaina agreed "I'm tempted to bring the cloak online too."

JM went back to sit down in front of Marlaina. "I assume you're going to wait until we're well away from the admiral's shuttle?"

"I am," she nodded "But with her aboard if I have to engage it to protect her treaty with the Romulans and the Federation or not I'll take that risk."

"I highly doubt she'd argue," JM added. "If I may make one suggestion, captain?"

"Of course commander, what is that?" Marlaina asked.

"Well, two things actually. First, I think avoiding a possible court martial would be very good for you and this crew," he said wth a slight smile, trying to make her feel better about it all, "and two, I think we should really hear Josie out when it comes down to it...I get a feeling like there's something big missing fron the whole thing."

"My command is in no danger, I've already been assured of that. As for Josie it all hinges on what she tells them when they talk to her. I may or may not be in on it. You cannot be, your too close in this," Marlaina replied

~Damn~ JM swore to himself in his head. "Fair enough," he said. JM stood back up. "Well, I think I'm going to head back out to the bridge and watch over things for a bit. Let me know if you need me."

"I'll do that, I need to get these reports finished," Marlaina said.

JM nodded then headed back out to the bridge. Kalief saw him and went back down to the helm seat, letting JM take the chair. "Commander, what's our status?"

"All quiet," Kalief said as he relieved his officer at helm "Maintaing presant course and speed. Any orders?"

"Not yet...honestly, I'd love to kick the engines into full and get our guests to their meeting, but that's up to the captain."

"I agree, slip stream is online and on standby. But without her orders I won't engage it without her order and she's not ready to engage it," Kalief replied "Who am I to argue with the captain?"

JM snickered. "You got me there."
