Jolan'tru crew,
First off I'd like to announce that Mac, the CO, has given command to myself. Though, if she ever wishes to return to the centre chair, I will easily step back down to XO. For now though, I'm the new Captain/CO - So dont freak if you see a new name at the top of the list. Mac has Captained this ship from back in 2009, thats just about 3 years now, and I can safely say shes one awesome CO; even though she thinks shes not :P
On to the Ship. A New Story will be up soon, as well as art and whatnot. We're gonna be going with the STO era (Star trek Online), If you're like me and play STO, which is now free To Play, then you'll be aware of the storyline. Its based in 2404, way after Nemesis, but not too far ahead. Alot of things have changed with the Federation, and I'll send out another notice soon with some more detailed info of such... Though keep in mind, STO, is very canon.
Other than that, we need to get some more Positions filled, so if you know anyone. Give em' a link to the site. If you'd like to contact me, Email me at jakeylautner@gmail.com - I should get back to you ASAP, just gotta remember to open up my Mail application more >.>
For now, Live long and Prosper. Lets try, for the umpteenth time, to get this Ship up and flying again.
Regards,
Jake
AKA
Captain Jackson Gregory
Commanding Officer,
USS Atlantis.
PS: If you guys wanted to change your characters name, or race, or anything about them. Now is the time todo it, seeing as we're changing era and story.

Thank you.

PRIME DIRECTIVE
As the right of each sentient species to live in accordance with its normal cultural evolution is considered sacred, no Star Fleet personnel may interfere with the healthy development of alien life and culture. Such interference includes the introduction of superior knowledge, strength, or technology to a world whose society is incapable of handling such advantages wisely. Star Fleet personnel may not violate this Prime Directive, even to save their lives and/or their ship unless they are acting to right an earlier violation or an accidental contamination of said culture. This directive takes precedence over any and all other considerations, and carries with it the highest moral Obligation.

Hello everyone,
Welcome to 2012 and a very happy New Year to you! I hope that your holidays (if you celebrated them) went very well and that you had a wonderful time with family. Quicksilver Fleet has undergone several changes that I am very excited to discuss with you. The first the announcement that our website is undergoing a major overhaul- you can see the prototype up there now, but expect some major changes in the future (www.quicksilverfleet.com). You can now get to all the ships from that page; something that will help out wonderfully while you are posting.
Secondly I am pleased to announce the re-implementation of monthly stats, starting in February. What this will do for YOU the simmer is that this will enable you to know how many posts you had each month, where you stand in relation to the rest of the ship- and what awards (if any) you have been given. I am looking forward to this!
Great things are coming everyone, and I am so excited for this year in Quicksilver Fleet.
I am emailing you first as the Director of Fleet Operations of this fleet, and second as a fellow Captain. There are a few things that I want to address in this email, but most of it is good I swear ;)
[New Captains]
First of all there have been many changes in our fleet. Ray, the former Captain of the USS Horizon - A, has decided to leave us and so that left a rather large gap in our ranks. Tara (Captain of the Amandora and XO of the Horizon) was ever so gracious to offer to Command it temporarily, in which she did a wonderful job indeed. I am pleased to announce however, that a new Captain has been found! Captain Wallace has now assumed Command of the Horizon and is already off to a great start! I am certain I am not the only one who wishes to congratulation him on his new position!
Lt. Colonel Ghrul has assumed Command of the USS Pushkin - A. He has been aboard for a small portion of time and already we are seeing massive improvements in the quality of posts as well as the quantity. I am so excited to see what is going to happen in the future, please congratulate him!
Also, we have a rather exciting opportunity. Lady Jesara is the Commanding Officer (for lack of a better term) of our first ever NON TREK SIMM!!!! Even though Dark Harbour is not especially Trek, it still falls within that category. I am excited to see what is going to come out of this new direction. Please congratulate her as well in taking up the CSS Righteous Storm.
[Other News]
I am certain that I do not need to stress the necessity for us to be talking about our fleet and our simms to other people. We are slowing building up, but we truly need to get the word out there and get some fresh simmers into our ranks. If you know anyone that is interested, please do your absolute best to get them involved. We want them, I promise! ;) Please have them email me at admiraltabolt@quicksilverfleet.com (my DFO Email, quite obviously) in order to get them involved if they have any questions.
[Email]
As you saw above, I am now able to offer fleet emails. If you are interested in having a QSF email, please respond to this and I am certain that I can give your Commanding officer a shiny new one ;) You may also inform you xo's, if they would like one as well. I am not certain of the space that we have, so I am asking that only Command level and above request emails for the PC's for now. Thanks.
[Rules]
We now have our rules published once more on the website. I am pleased that I also had to alter them on a second page for our first ever NON TREK simm :) Although they are still a work in progress, please read them and inform your crews that they are required to read them and reference them.
http://quicksilverfleet.com/sfrules.htm - for ST Simms
http://quicksilverfleet.com/nonsfrules.htm - for NON ST Simms
If any of you have anything that you feel needs to be addressed within the rules, or that needs to be added, please email me at admiraltabolt@quicksilverfleet.com. Thanks.
[Wiki]
We are working on a wiki for our site. It is having some issues, but I promise it will be forthcoming asap.
[Requirements]
Posting is not an optional thing; each and every member of your crew should be posting within the required time that YOU should be setting. If they are not complying you will need to contact them, and if they still have issues, contact me at admiraltabolt@quicksilverfleet.com, admiraldeneau@quicksilverfleet.com, or fleetadmiralolvera@quicksilverfleet.com to rectify this issue.
While we have let it go, we now are REQUIRING Captains to do stats each month. If you are unable to or unwilling to comply with this, I will address this on a individual basis. If you need assistance doing your stats, email admiralwilson@quicksilverfleet.com as she is the Reports Admiral in our fleet, or you may rely on the assistance of your Executive Officer; they are there to help you after all. I am attaching a template to this email for you to observe, and then follow every month. We are doing this in order to accurately track how many posts we have each month, how many each crewmember is doing, who our valuable crewmen are, and so that you can be handing out awards for your crew. We have found in the past that this is actually a wonderful motivator for our crews. I am speaking as an Admiral here, this is NOT optional.
Via these reports we will be allowing you to submit a player of the month to be featured on our main page, and we will select ONE to be featured. So get working folks!
Kindest regards,
Admiral Tabolt

Captains I will be emailing each of you a copy of the stat’s template. As mentioned I am more than willing to assist you in doing them.

I’d like to wish Admiral Youngdeer a Happy Birthday, he celebrated another pass around the Galaxly on January 24th. Happy Birthday !!!!!

This is also your newsletter, if you have anything you’d like to have put in it please email me. It can be a birthday, anniversary, birth of a child, anything and I will be more than happy to put it in a future edition.

That said it’s now TRIVIA TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
James Doohan (Scotty) lost his right middle finger during World War II. Most of his scenes are shot to hide it. However, it is very noticeable in Catspaw. When Scotty is holding a phaser pistol on Kirk & Spock, only two fingers are holding the butt of the phaser. This is also noticeable in The Trouble with Tribbles, when Kirk's food comes out of the food dispenser filled with tribbles and Scotty walks in carrying a big load of tribbles.
Many elements of the Spock character were improvised by Leonard Nimoy during production. For instance, the "Vulcan neck pinch" was his suggestion during filming of The Enemy Within for how Spock could subdue an opponent. The "Vulcan salute" was created during the production of Amok Time using a version of a traditional Jewish religious hand gesture as a distinctive Vulcan greeting.
Gene Roddenberry once hypothesized that the Enterprise carried a platoon of Starfleet Marines, but they never appeared onscreen in the original series. The Starfleet Marines would eventually make an appearance, but not until Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The idea was revived with the addition of a group of "space marines" beginning in the 2003-2004 season of Star Trek: Enterprise.
