Welcome to the USS Pushkin - A!

Welcome to the USS Pushkin-A. Boldly going... Well where ever we want to. Under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Johan Ghrul the Pushkin and her crew face a new frontier. New friends to be made, new enemies to be fought, and new worlds to explore. They go forth to do battle not only for the Federation, but anyone asking for help.

So step forward and join Security where the fight is fast, or the Marines where you'll use more than just your muscles. Join Operations and help the crew get where its going, Medical to keep everyone safe, or the new Emergency Response Team and take on larger horrors, and bigger battles.

We are a crew of friends, family, Admirals, visiting members, new faces and old guard. Join us as we rid the galaxy of plagues, slavery, and maybe find some new knowledge or even treasure to share with everyone. The only thing holding you ack, is you.

My Crew,

We've lost two people this month due to personal issues, and I wish them a fond farewell. This means I have two less people to try and ghet this story line up and moving quickly.

This is a general call for anyone that wants to help the story along. Johan will have three more fights, and then the crew will be able to blast through the shielding unit and get him and Lancaster. If anyone wants to help out, just let myself or Maya know. If you need ideas, then email me, send me a PM, or just start a JP with me and I'll see what I can do.

Even though we've lost two crew members, this doesn't mean everything comes to a screeching halt. Last month we had 46 posts, this month we dropped twenty. If you have a mission idea I'm willing to listen, or if you're bored with the one I have on, then please post and we'll get it done faster.

As always I have an open door policy with my crew.

» Word Limit

Posted on Sat Mar 3rd, 2012 @ 9:46pm by in General News

My fine crew,

After reveiwing recent posts, I have decided to put a word limit on posting. The minimum is 150 words, and the sky's the limit on how long they can be. This is to help people become better writters, and to help with certain details. I do appologise if this messes with anyone, but it will help the quality of our works.

Have fun, and the new Mission will be starting soon

PRIME DIRECTIVE

As the right of each sentient species to live in accordance with its normal cultural evolution is considered sacred, no Star Fleet personnel may interfere with the healthy development of alien life and culture. Such interference includes the introduction of superior knowledge, strength, or technology to a world whose society is incapable of handling such advantages wisely. Star Fleet personnel may not violate this Prime Directive, even to save their lives and/or their ship unless they are acting to right an earlier violation or an accidental contamination of said culture. This directive takes precedence over any and all other considerations, and carries with it the highest moral Obligation.

[Rules]

We now have our rules published once more on the website. I am pleased that I also had to alter them on a second page for our first ever NON TREK simm :) Although they are still a work in progress, please read them and inform your crews that they are required to read them and reference them.

http://quicksilverfleet.com/sfrules.htm - for ST Simms
http://quicksilverfleet.com/nonsfrules.htm - for NON ST Simms

If any of you have anything that you feel needs to be addressed within the rules, or that needs to be added, please email me at admiraltabolt@quicksilverfleet.com. Thanks.

[Requirements]

Posting is not an optional thing; each and every member of our fleet should be posting within the required time. This is not something that is negotiable.

This is also your newsletter, if you have anything you'd like to have put in it please email me. It can be a birthday, anniversary, birth of a child, anything and I will be more than happy to put it in a future edition.

That said it's now TRIVIA TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Episode Shore Leave has the only scene in which the U.S.S. Enterprise is seen orbiting a planet from right to left. The I.S.S. Enterprise also does this briefly in the parallel universe, in the pre-credits sequence of Mirror, Mirror, but by the beginning of Act I, it is again orbiting from left to right.

Grace Lee Whitney was supposed to be the lead female character, hence her prominent role as Yeoman Janice Rand in the first season. However, the producers let go of the character after the first season, much to the fans' regret. Whitney, however was asked back for most of the Star Trek movies, reprising her role as Janice.

In the hallways of the Enterprise there are tubes marked "GNDN", these initials stand for "goes nowhere does nothing".

Actor Mark Lenard, best known for his role as Sarek, Spock's father, was the first actor to play a member of all three of the major alien races: Romulan (Balance of Terror), Vulcan (Journey to Babel and other entries), and Klingon (Star Trek: The Motion Picture).

The slanting crawlway that leads up to the warp-drive nacelles is referred to as a "Jefferies tube." This is a reference to art director Walter M. Jefferies.

In several episodes, prop beverage bottles were modified from existing alcohol bottles. Aldeberan Whiskey bottles were Cuervo Gold 1800 Tequila bottles. Bottles used for Saurian Brandy were George Dickel Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey carafes.
